18 100th ISSUE
Celebrating Milestones
Anniversaries allow one to reminisce. Many automotive companies celebrate such milestones with a special edition to commemorate where they were and where they are now. This month, Makes and Models celebrates its 100th issue, and like so many others, we feel that we should celebrate with a special edition. Our version, however, won’t recount our history—it is dedicated to recounting the anniversary editions of some of the world’s most beloved marques. We celebrate them because it is their creations that inspire us. We celebrate those who have helped bring Makes and Models to the big 1-0-0!

Known for its already super-fast capabilities and top of the line speed potential, Ferrari’s V12, 620 horsepower 599 GTB can now fly by even faster, thanks to tuning firm Edo Competition. The 599 GTB comes stock with a zero to 62 time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph, but for Edo Competition that would never be enough. 110 KOENIGSEGG EDITON
Koenigsegg Goes Custom When Koenigsegg developed the CCX in 2003, they built a high-performance machine with 806 hp. On September 11, 2007, the deservingly
coveted car beat out the Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Murcielago and Mclaren SLR for the prestigious“Sports Car of the Year” in Sweden’s Aftonbladet (The Evening Sheet). Afterwards, its makers decided to design a limited edition version with 888hp. However, an emergence of greenhouse emission concerns inspired the technicians at Koenigsegg to design an eco-friendly version.
134 TWO WHEELS
Hardcore Iceman 2
The Iceman II has a strong muscular aesthetic created
by sharp body angles similar to those on Ferrari’s intimidating monocoque chassis racecar. Yet at the same time, the elegant sloping of the gas tank and the curved steel rising from the front of the rider’s perforated black leather seat give the bike the sophistication of Formula 1. The 120 hp engine creates a menacing sound reminiscent of Ferrari’s racecar engine despite the near 500 horsepower difference.

The Z06 delivers the same power as the car with 505 horse power and 470 lb.-ft. of torque from the exclusive LS7 Corvette engine.
